Unhappy HELP!! Has anyone had this problem?

On Fri Inoticed there was a weird clickin/popping sound coming from under my hood I took a look around sat but couldnt really find anything wrong and could tell where the noise was coming from.
Sun I had it in my garage and since it was darker in there I noticed a blue spark coming from somewhere under the UIM that corresponded with the noise. I then proceeded to remove the intake elbow to get a better look.
Upon starting this time there was alot of popping/clicking then smoke then my engine shut down. Any attempt made to start it did not work and resulted in smoke from what appeared to be under the UIM or there about.

I have a good Idea what happened but im wondering If this has happened to anyone before.

you obviously have something grounded and its probably a wire somewhere pinched under something that finally wore through.Once you figuure it out you might find that it blew a fuse(make sure to check the main fuse by the battery)and this could be the reason it wont start.

popping and clicking under hood!

I had this problem also. It was my battery shorting out internally believe it or not! I was barley able to make it home from my sisters house. My car had to be jump started with cables. Then the engine hunted terribly and wanted to die. Igot it home with the abs light lit constantly, and the check engine light going on and off all the way home. Changed the battery, no more problem.

hehe.. I had the exact same problem couple of weeks ago.

It's your spark plug wires disconnected from the coil. The coil is located behind your UIM. Gocheck it out and put it back soon before start the engine.. or I'll hear about one more totaled burned-up FD soon.

good luck.

You spark plug wires my not be pluged in completely or the boot is ripped so the coil is arcing to anything near it. I would definitley fix that problem before you drive it again.
