Help-glovebox latch broken

I've got a glovebox latch that decided to latch no more. It is actually the handle that actuates the latch that broke. The plastic arm of the handle that actuates the latch broke so the handle came all the way off. I can open the box with a pair of minature needle nose pliers. There does not appear to be any way to fix the handle of the latch as it would require gluing which is obviously hopeless. It also wasn't obvious I could take it apart and replace the assembly.

Anybody else with this problem, and a fix without replacing the whole box?

Thanks,
Justin Wade

It's pretty cheap from the dealer. Just make sure you don't throw your old parts out in case something comes missing like screws and stuff.

Well I have everything intact..it just wont open. Locked or unlocked..does not open. It seems like the locking mechinism is stuck in the locked position and it will not open.

Is it for a 93 or 94-95 as they are different. Try Malloy or Mazdapartscheap for a replacement (under $30)

Mine is a 1994 car. Should it be obvious how to assemble and dissasemble the handle for replacement? I'll give Malloy a call.

Thanks,
Justin

It's easy to fix just leve everything mounted up untill you get the replacement parts then transfer the lock assembley and reinstall latch assembley. That way you won't loose any parts and putting it back together will be fresh in your mind.
