SK Help! Gauges not lighting up!

I just recently installed the alpine CDA 9886 and everything went perfect. Once I took my car for a cruise after I was done I realized that my gauge lights wouldn't light up. My kilometer thing is still bright orange.. checked my dimmer switch but it doesn't work. once I parked and was getting out I noticed it wasn't making that beeping noise! please help!

guessing thats a cd player..

anyways, 99% sure you have a loose connection behind your head unit. when i replaced my stereo a while back my tail-lights and dash lights went out. you must have giggled something loose while putting things in.

if you cant figure out whats wrong after doing this. call your local electonics(automobile) repair outfit. they can run a dignostic thats rather cheap to find out exactly wrong.

I would get a couple more 15amp fuses to keep on hand just in case... mine recently went out as well and I needed to have a shop go back and bypass (something) behind the dash. My dimmer switch is now inop but all my backlighting works.

Also, your running lights and tail lights are tied into the same fuze, so if you can't see your gauge lights, be careful about driving in the dark. Your headlights will still work, but that's about it.

Well I found the problem. The person that had the car before me had put a C-West front bumper on it and had cut the side marker lights and never put anything on the exsposed wires.
