Help with flywheel

OK i bought a rebuilt motor and i am in the process of putting it in. On my old motor that was in the car my flywheel unbolted with 6 or 7 bolts. On the motor i bought it had a lightened flywheel and some other weight type thing. It has the same bolts but the weight it on there. My question is can i take this off and be ok. I dont really know what it is. Jay

i'm pretty sure it is a counterweight, you dont have to use it with the stock flywheel.

Yup, it is the counterweight from a stock AT FD. Why aren't you running the light flywheel? really helps the car to rev more quickly in the lower gears.
