Help: FD won't start

I hope you guys can help me out with this.

I was doing a routine change of coolant, and when I went to start my car it started smoking and wouldn't hardly idle. (The car was cold and hadn't been started since the previous night.) I had to keep my foot on the gas, in order to keep it running, and black and white smoke was coming out the tailpipe. The car ran fine the night before, then all of a sudden it wouldn't hardly run at all.

The first time I started the car, the front end was on jack stands. I thought this might be causing the thing to run like crap, so I lowered the car flat and restarted it. I gave it some gas, revved it to about 4k, (which it ran alright until I let off the gas). Then I let it run by itself, until it finally stalled out. After it stalled I haven't been able to start it since.

After reading some posts about the MAP, I went too look and it turns out that the MAP vac line was disconnected. Phew... it was just the Vac line... right? Well... it may have been, but I recconcected the vac line and the car still wont start. The car cranks, but it will not turn over and all I smell is unburnt gas. It smells flooded.

Is this car flooded? Did I blow my engine?

I also tried push starting the thing to no avail. I took out a spark plug to see if it was wet, and it was not wet, although it was caked with carbon build up.

I have read the FAQ's on how to start a flooded car, and I am going to try and do that, but I was wondering if the problem is more serious. Has anyone had this problem before? Only 20k miles on new engine.

Please respond,
Thanks,
Mike

check if ur gettin spark on ur plugs and check the relay (main). Mine havent started for three months and i think i found wat wrong wit it (my crank angle sensor was broken). So check that too and the presure boost senor if the hose is disconneted.

Thanks for the help.

It turns out that the engine was just flooeded. I took all four spark plugs out, pressed the gas to the floor (this disables the fuel injectors) and cranked the engine. It made a weird popping noise and fuel sprayed out of the plug holes. I replaced the old fouled plugs with new ones and that was that. It started on the first try.

The real problem started with the MAP Vac line being disconnected. It caused the engine to run real rich, even richer then it should when it is cold. It just dumped so much fuel into the chamber it wouldn't combust.

just be careful cranking the engine with all that fuel vapour under the hood....it may only take one spark for it all to disappear

if the engine floods again, you could try and leave the spark plugs out over night allowing most of the fuel to evaporate...then when starting (with the plugs back in) mash the pedal to the floor so the factory ecu will cut the fuel to the injectors untill you let off
