I've done it..... I dunno if I want to do it again. I had a lot of problems getting the transmission to mate up to the engine but finially got it to happen.

Do a search on this site and you'll get info from other attempts. Also check out the Rob Robinette website and others that are listed when you do a search. You'll find step by step instructions.

You will need some speciality tools, I got all of mine from mazdatrix and they made a big difference. A compressor and impact wrench is the best way to take off and put back the big nut that holds the pressure plate on.

I would get the flywheel resurfaced, $40-50 bucks and worth it. I had mine done and it's been pretty smooth.

I've done clutches on several cars in my life and I found doing the FD's the hardest, not much room, special tools needed lots of stuff to remove, etc. not for the fainthearted or mechanically challenged.

But if you're up to it -- you can save a lot of money.

good luck

hardest part will be realigning everything... easiest way to do that part regardless of what people tell you is to buy some longer bolts and ease it on the with that...

It's not too bad I managed without special tools, but a lift is crutial, the clutch on rex7 works different than on others cars (pull clutch) so check and read some hints on other threads on this forum.Since you on it you may wanna check excentric shaft seal(rear one).My was leaking. If you decide to do it ,BE CAREFULL,before you pull the rear cover out ,read how to.Also check the torque of rotor housing. You can find some good info on
