My secondary turbo was loosing boost n **** so i checked all hoses. Found one on the rats nest that goes to the Turbo control solenoid that was off. I pulled of the intake manifold to reconnect it, the nipple on the T/C solonoid was blown off. I was wondering if I can swap the EGR solonoid for the T/C solonoid or something of that sort, like a cheap fix. I am broke. thanks.

 

All of the solenoids in that rack are the same .They have a small filter or not .So swap to one you are not going to use .Use the little filter as needed . You do know the turbo control sol that is not in the rack ,attached with a stud and the purge solenoid attached with a stud are different .The solenoid in the rack ( turbo control ) that can be swaped with the EGR sol is solenoid E in the rack The EGR sol is D in the rack .You are in luck , if I remember neather of them has a little filter . Good skill to you .

 

Turbo control and EGR solenoid does have a filter on the connector end.

Thanks, but yesterday I panicked after i had the car apart because i needed to be somewhere and the FD is my daily driver, so i sanded the nipple and sol with 80grit and plastic welded it back together. It is working great for now, and if it blows off again i will have to waste another 3 hours to tear it apart and swap the solenoids n put it back together. Mayb it will last me untill i get a single turbo.

 

My memory is failing ,I am getting old .
