I had a wheel bearing go out. Now I think the other one is doing it.

When you are driving you will hear what sounds like road noise. Like a worn tire. I got new tires since it was time for them but no, the sound was still there.

Also when you swerve abruptly back and forth at about 25 or 30mph you should hear the noise increase when the wheel toes out. For me it was my right rear wheel. So when I would swerve to the left the wheel would toe out and was loud and I could hear it better.

I went to Mazda to have it replaced. The Mazda South here in Austin is actually a good place to go. Not like other cities.

Part # was J001-26-151 for $92.80 and if I am reading the invoice right it was $162.50 in labor.

I hope this helps.

Had this problem on a 2nd gen. Had Mazda pull the axle and press the bearing off and on.

Hey everyone, someone must have done this job themself already. Isn't there an aftermarket supplier for these bearings?? $92.80 for a bearing sounds crazy. Tom
