Help! All of sudden car runs rich, exhaust temp light

Here's what happened:

I forgot I left the car in first so I stalled right after letting out the clutch. Engine didn't flood or anything but the 2nd time I started it, the exh temp light goes on, and ABS, oil/water level, battery light also went on. i drove the car for 2 miles and smell my exhause to be very rich. Also rough idle from too much fuel.

It looks like the car is remaining in warmup mode for ever now buti'm reaching operating temps.

somebody please help.

alrite, the problem seems to be the alternator is not working... can this happen just by the jolt of my 1st gear jump? the car has been running great so i know this is something small.. anybody?????????????

also where do I check the codes? I know how to short these connectors but where do I find the blinking light? on the ecu?

The blinking light is the Check engine light (CEL) in your cluster. Count the number of blinks. Long = 10
Short = 1

Add them up.

For future reference, running too LEAN causes the exhaust to overheat.
