help: alarm going crazy!

i have a 94 FD. the problem is with the alarm. It seems my stock alarm keeps going crazy( horn goes off and lights flip up and down, hazards go on) even when my car isnt armed. It goes off randomly, i was even driving down my street and it started going off! I do have a upgraded alarm on the car though. I have no idea what is going on, so i ended up just disconnecting the battery.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with their sevens?

I have a crawford allarm and when i unlock my car my horn and lights go up most of the time and i have to lock and unlock to stop it, its annoying!!!!! My guess is that it has something to do with the stock anty theft devise. Someone must know how to deal with this problem.

i had the same problem for a while. it finally went away but all i did was make sure all the grounds were fine. just tighten everything up. its easy and it might solve the problem.

You ground the hatch switch wire as stated in this thread and problem solved. But, the alarm will be permanently disabled (it never arms).

I wish it was that easy. I had my stock alarm disabled so that it doesn't arm by grounding the hood switch. It still goes wacko and it got to the point where I had to pull the horn relay to keep the neighbors from getting pissed.

As mentioned above, check your grounds. Mine has been sitting all winter long, so I'm sure there has been some corrosion.

As suggested, CPU #2 is probably fried. You can pick up a used one for $50 or so in the classifieds. Mine was killed by a shitty aftermarket alarm install so you may be better off removing that too if you have one.
