Heater Removal
I'm in the process of installing new carpet, as well as changing out a leaky heater core. Dash has been taken out, and I'm now in the process of removing the heater unit. I've unbolted the unit, as well as removed the heater hoses which connect through the firewall. However, I can't seem to get the unit out - it's somewhat loose, but jwon't come out. I'm fairly sure removal of the a/c unit is not necessary - I've searched extensively and have found photos where other guys have removed just the heater unit only. What am I missing? Is there a trick to this? Don't want to use brute force - can get expensive doing things that way!
Would appreciate some help on this!

with the dash out you should be able to see everything needed to be removed/unbolted. i did it in my tiny japanese parking space by myself. the heater core itself is encased in a plastic box from memory. Maybe the metal tubing that runs through the firewall has jammed on the rubber grommets, try pushing it through from the engine side.
