Heat wrap

Was thinking about getting heat wrap for my downpipe & mainfold. but i was told from brock @ gotham racing that the heat wrap eventually rust outs the Pipe. I wanted to put it on the downpipe & mainfold but i was wondering if anyone has it on there pipes so see if this is true?

I put a spray coating made by DEI on it first. Mine is fine. I have an HKS downpipe. I used wrap from summit racing.

Im thinking about getting the high heat coating spray. Supposely the spray keep other materials from getting in contact with the wrap.
In miami it rains here alot. Which is why im going with the high heat coating.
