Heat shield betwwen the y-pipe and exhaust?

Should there be a heat shield betwwen the y-pipe and exhaust? I looked in the manual and there doesn't seem to be one. I just replaced the o-ring in the y-pipe and it'll just cook in couple of months. (Vitol 2.125" o-ring source anyone?)

I bot the car with a DP mod install in place. I put a PC in for a while, and soom went back to the DP. Maybe a heat shield got tossed with the original mod?

Opinions welcome (ESPECIALLY from those who've done it) on jet coating the DP, and/or using exhaust wrap, a/o a DIY heatshield... or 2 of the 3.

TIA

the Y-pipe and exhaust? huh??? no heat shield there. there is a heatshield between the PC and frame and ABS and the rest of the motor.

IT gets removed when u get a downpipe though.

I believe I have the same thing. it is a thin piece of plastic that sorta flaps if you poke it. It looks to cover the bottom portion of the y-pipe. I'll take a pic of it this afternoon to be more clear.
