heat hazard problems

I have a heat hazard light that is on all the time... the sensor has checked out OK. The issue seems to be that the fact that it is on prevents my air pump from working. Any ideas on what to check? Thanks.

I really have no idea about this one, so just flame anything I might say here..
But.. Why would the warning-lamp stop the airpump?
Maybe the light is on bacause the airpump isn't working?
Before calling me an idiot, please focus on my first sentence and the fact that I'm an simple european..
