Im trying to hook up my gauges so that the light changes color when I have the headlights on. I'm not the best with electrical and I don't own a voltmeter so I was hoping somebody knew which wire to tap off hand so I'm not just cutting random wires.

It would work best for me if I could splice in under the steering column or dash. Here is a pic of the 2 connectors right under the steering column, I would assume the headlight switch wire is in there somewhere..

 

For that you can just tap into the ashtray light.

 

nice, I didn't realize the ashtray was switched with the headlight. For some reason I thought it was on all the time. Well this should be simple, thanks man!
