hawk brake pads

Ok guys, i am going to buy front brake pads for my car. I wanted hawk HPS since my wheels are white and i know that HP+ does a lot of dirt.

Someone told me that HPS were really not good and that he wouldn't sell them to me even if he had them in stock and needed to get rid of it.

Are they that bad compared to HP+? He says that it goes well for the first stop but as soon as they are hot, they don't work well anymore.

Please help me

I am running Hawk HPS. They are much better than stock in my opinion, but they work much better when warm. I don't run at the track, but at autocross they are better on the 2nd 3rd etc runs versus the first where they are too cold to do anything.

I got mine from www.kvrperformance.com for pretty cheap.

I run HP+ on my 93 R1 and have had two other FDs that I put on HPS on all 4 corners. The HPS and HP+ don't feel really different at street speeds, but the HPS dust a whole lot less.

I'd get the HPS if I were buying my next set of street/auto-x pads.

I auto-x my 93 R1 for 3yrs now, 10-15 events/yr. First year was on stock pads, second two on HP+. The HP+ were better than stock, but the stock pads really work well also, I went with HPS on the other two FDs because they are actually cheaper than stock.

For The Price HPS are the best, however I just changed to EBC Green Stuff (from HPS) and they have better Grip and Feel. BC Green can stand much more heat than HPS so are better on the track Butthey cost 50% more Than HPS. HPS & EBC Green are the only Pads I have used on my fd so far.

Do a search on HPS and you will find that they are the choice by most for street and occasional track use. I have them in the front and rear and am EXTREMELY Happy with their performance and they dust about as much as the stockers.
