Having Some Issue

Well i got the car back from Compact Car Performance and i installed the pettit AST yesterday. The car however is still having some issues. I does not like to be in boost sometimes. It seems that it just depends. Like i drive it from my shop to my house a 3-4 mile trip and its like its in limp mode. But then after i've stopped at a light and start again it comes to life. The rpms and speedo will also jump randomly while cruising. It also has a knocking in the rear from somewhere, but only when slowing down.

The car in question is a 1993 rx7 with 105000 miles. however the previous owner said the engine was rebuilt and the 5th gear syncro was redone.

If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated.

if the Tach and Speedo are jumping, but the car and engine speeds are not, you most likely have an electrical short in your gauges or wiring somewhere (the Tachometers are known to do this frequently as the soldering detoriorates over time). as for the boost issues, it could quite possibly be a vacuum line that acting up.

that are just some suggestions to start with... i'm sure you'll get alot more from people on here that have similar problems.

See thats the thing Compact Car performance was supposed to check over all the vacume lines because its on the simplified sequential setup now. They said it all checked out.

to be honest with you, i've never heard of them, nor do i know if there are a good rotary mechanic shop to begin with (i'm not from that region at all). have they done many simplified sequential setups before or was yours a trial run? i would dig around in your local regional subforum to see if they can't offer you more help. maybe someone would be able to come out and look at it and recognize something you're over-looking.

i mean no insult to the shop, i just don't know them and have seen people get burned buy non-reputible shops before.

best of luck though.

thanks for your advice i was hesitant to use the shop aswell but when i got there they had 4 other FD's there and a FC drag car in there showroom. Which led me to believe they knew what they were doing. On a side note i did the simplified sequential setup with Harrison, not sure if you know him. I dunno i just think sometimes i wasnt meant for this car which sucks cause i absolutely love them when there running perfect.
