having brake light issues.

Ok so the other day my friend told me that my rear passangers side stop lamps went out.I went to autozone and purchased replacement bulbs and changed them out.Heres the crazy part. The turn signal bulb works without a problem. The same goes for the middle stop lam.Now the one closest to the center light isnt working correctly. With the lights on it works fine. But when the brake pedal is depressed it shuts off completely instead of illuminating both coils like it should.
What is this attributed to? and what would be the best solution for this?

Are you sure you got the right bulb? I think the brake lights are 2-way bulbs - they can light up dim for parking/running lights, and bright when you hit the brakes. If you get the 1-way bulb, nothing will light up usually.

Try swapping in the bulb from the other side to double-check.

You have a ground problem in the socket. If you look closesly at the top/side of the socket, you will see a wire connection in a little slot/depression. This is a ground and it is probably rusty and/or corroded and not making a good connection. I took a soldering iron and melted away a little more of the plastic, then took a small peice of emery board and scuffed the area. I then applied a liberal amount of solder to keep the connection solid.

Oh, I have some extra bulbs as well. Did the same thing as you did, only twice about a year apart. I knew all of tht glue sniffing was gonna affect my memory! LOL
