How I fixed the drivers pocket lid and door....
I couldn't find a how to on this, but **** guys, this is simple as hell as long as your lid isn't broken and all the little tabs aren't chip or broken.
Basically (when facing the drivers side door) on the right side, there is suppose to be (i'm guessing) some sort of little plastic retainer pin that goes into through the tab on the pocket and into a tab on the actual lid. Well, if that isn't there, it falls out all the time. And on the left side is just a tab that fits into the lid that is molded, so that part isn't the concern.
All I did was drill a hole the size of the holes on the tab on the pocket, and then drilled all the way through the tab on the lid, then I put a #6 pan head threaded bolt through both holes, put locktite on the threads, and a nut on the other side....bam, lid stays on, it will lift itself and snap it's self shut (because of that little tab that puts pressure on the lid). It doesn't rattle, and you can't even see the bolt obviously unless the lid is open, but all you see is the nut because if you get the right length, the nut just barely goes on flush with the bolt. A dab of paint would vitually make it disappear.
Obviously the door panel has to be removed to do this (I've been painting mine with plasti dip....damn near a perfect factory match and feel!).
Also, on the door panel, I'm sure alot of you have this problem, but my door flexed out alot. Well, obviously part of the door panel was broken under the pocket from people jerking on the door, so what i did was again, drilled 4 small holes inside of the pocket on the drivers side all the way though the door panel, put the same #6 bolts in, a washer on the back and a nut with locktite, bam, door doesn't flex anymore and holds together without any gaps.
Now, obviosly, those 4 pan heads stick out like a sore thumb inside the pocket, but guess what?! You put your lid on, and the backside of the lid completely hides these bolts and you'll never see them again! Lid doesn't rub on them, and is a nice smooth action.
As soon as I can, I'll take pics.

This is definitely something I'm going to consider doing. My door is a mess. Looking forward to the pictures. Oh any idea on how to fix this problem I have: the bottom of the door panel doesnt mount completely flush with the door so it makes it a little harder to close.

Mazda had a pretty **** poor design on the door. You take it apart and see where the main stress is (where the door handle is to shut the door from the inside) and the main stress is put on a tiny little piece of the door panel, that is a for sure deal to break if someone pulls too hard.
One thing, if you ever shut your door, and it only closes half way, don't jerk on it to shut. Just open it back up, and swing it shut like you are suppose to.
