I took off those chrome rings around the gauges. I just hated any chrome pieces in the interior so I took them off. It was a snap to take off

That's kinda sad ... Mazda put some thought into the classic roadster styling of the car, which includes those chrome bezels ... Ahh well, we still have people putting carbon fiber stickers on their interior, too.

I'm with you DK, I like the chrome rings. I think they're classy and add a little something to the mostly black interior.

WTF ??? Why would you want to get rid of the Chrome Bezels ?? The plain black takes so much away from the styling of the int. For the love of God...don't do this to your FD.

I did it cause I don'y like any chrome in the interior of my car. I'm sure lots more people don't like chrome as much as I, why would they want to keep it if they don't like it? To me, and this is only my opinion, I thought it made the interior look a 65 mustang. And that's only my opinion guys

Well, so far you ARE the only one in this thread to say that you dont like the chrome rings

Personally, I like the chrome rings. It gives it a classic feeling to the gauge cluster. I even got chrome gauges under my radio, too. There ARE lots of highend cars with gauges with chrome rings. The M roadster being one of them.

Oh well. Whatever flicks your bic

Chrome paint is shitty and most of it doesn't stick very well. There are places that will re-chrome them, like places that restore parts for older "classic" cars. I'm not sure how much it costs. You might be able to find a place in your area ... I guess anywhere that chromes. If you don't know of one, ask around, perhaps at a good parts store with people who know their **** and they should know someone. If you can't find one, there are some online. I found a few just by searching for "chrome bezels."

I respect your taste Red...everyone has their likes and dislikes. BUT, that's like Going into a Ferrari 360 Modena and Ripping out all of it's Chrome bezzled gauge trim. Enzo would not be very happy.

The FD isn't a roadster, so why would we want any of that in it? I tend to shy away from chrome/shiny things because that's just what the American car enthusiasts do to their cars...chrome this, polish that, etc. I'd prefer a more understated, humble look. I'm not going to remove the chrome bezels in my FD, but if there were a tasteful way to replace them with something other than some bling bling chrome (which, IMO doesn't do anything to better the looks of anything) I'd prolly go for it.

Meantime, If anyone has a Cusco D strut bar for sale, PM me

The Miata deleted the chome rings for a couple years and the backlash was incredible. The retro chrome rings are back on.

Whatever. Don't forget to black out those red-necky chrome emblems and antenna mast also. Primer black paint job also. No shiney American crap.

There are only 23 people that replied to this post. How many FD owners are on the forum?? Duh!
