HAs anyone replaced just the Clutch disk?

Hey guys my clutch is finally slipping after three years and im wondering if any of you have just replaced the friction disk without getting into the release bearing and pilot? the disk i want to use is a street/strip disk from my ACT.
The reason im asking is i'm driving to sevenstock and dont want to lose the clutch on the way, and then the following weekend its going down for the winter and a full rebuild so i wont be putting mre then 750 miles on it bufore pulling it back out.
Has anyone out there done this and what recommendations do you have while im doing it?

Thanks,
Ken

Sure, you can leave the bearings in place (just make sure to lube them). Its just a good idea to replace those "while you are in the area" as they are probably old and worn. Its not really any extra work to replace those once the transmission is down and I would also suggest replacing the wedge collar as well as the pilot bearing seal. As long as you replace/upgrade the pressure plate when you replace the clutch disc, you should be fine.

The rear main seal is no big deal. If its the o-ring on the rear stationary gear, then that's a bigger issue.

Really, everything you need to know is in the FSM. Once you remove the flywheel/counterweight, you remove the old seal and put the new one in.
