Has anyone removed the heater core without removing the dash?

You don't really need another person to help you with the dash. I've had to take mine in and out multiple times just so I could fix my wiring for my auto-trans conversion that was done rather sloppily by the previous owner.

hello. the abs computer thingy at the back, can u just unplug it and dump it after u eliminate the abs stuff up front? would u need to do anything else to eliminate the computer thingy? no error codes? and i also understand u "should" remove the "speed sensor" when u eliminate the ABS. how do i do this? TIA ya' all.

If your car came equipped with cruise control, you can remove the computer for that as well. It's on the driver's side footwell, and very easy to get to. See pages Q-10 and Q-11 of the Body Electrical Troubleshooting Manual for more details on the location.

I'll bet you've already thought of this, but the inertial reels for the seatbelts are pretty heavy.
You can save a bit of weight by removing the wiring for parts you've already removed. Here's spme RX-7 trivia for you: the R1 models had wiring installed for cruise control, even if they weren't equipped with it.

For real? You didn't happen to weigh it did you? Did you remove the tar from behind the dash too or just under the carpet?
Well, I removed the tar from the drivers side pan and tranny tunnel (Still have lots more to remove). I can see myself losing 30lbs from just the tar itself. The weight adds up pretty quick.
I did this without a heatgun or without dry ice
