Question has Anyone here Painted the mesh plastic in their Side Vents ??

Just wodering if anyone has painted the black plastic mesh in their side vents. I have a BB Touring and was wondering if anyone already did this. If so.........shoot some pics up on here.

I was thinking painting it silver would give those side vents an appearance of added depth. OR............would it make it look like sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeet ?

I think I've seen red on red. IMHO, don't paint it. I didn't like it.

what he said. unlesss it's silver on silver, painting it silver would make it look like somebody tried to put in some sheet metal in the vents but didn't bother to paint it.

Mine were accidently painted when my FD was repainted.
It was painted the same color as the rest of the car.
SO IMO, it looks good, while you are at it paint (if you have)
a R1 lip and the rear bumper skirt..

dont paint the front lip, that looks terrible when its the same color as the car, keep the R1 lip black

Ditto (not the lip and skirt, though) -- mine was painted while the entire car was painted.

Mine was also painted by the paint shop. It looks ok but I wish they hadn't. I like the original look of the FD. I think Mazda got it just right.

don't paint the front spoiler, or the vent. I think it looks great just leaving it stock.

Mine too even though I specifically mentioned that I didn't want them painted

I also had my lip painted; looks great.

And the rear bumper skirt was painted the same color as the car also. I have no idea why they did this, but I hate the way it looks. I am in the process of locating a stock one to replace it with. Here's a couple pics (sorry none of the vents)...

What mesh? One of mine came out while washing the car back in 1994, they both have been gone since then. Their only purpose was to keep small critters out of the ducts which does not work anyway.

Was at a local Porsche race shop Thursday, a 2003 Porsche was there to figure out what was wrong with the right side front brakes and lights. They discovered that some ??? rodent had chewed through a couple of wiring harnesses.

i also got a BB, i think if u painted the vents it would ruin the visual appeal that comes with the rx7, but if u like disturbing visual appeal.. like large gt wings and discolored body kits along z3 fenders and neon lights and such then go for it bro!!
