Harness Connector Question

What is the best route when modifying engine harness connectors? IE: X-05 and X-14 or the ECU harness for a tranny swap? I hear most cut the wires and re-soder the wires requied or by removing the entire wire from its casing which makes it clean. Anyone have suggestions?

If I understand your question correctly, when I cleaned up mine, I pulled the pins from the head end. The only thing I cut was the lead end to ensure that I pulled the correct wires. I had unwrapped the entire thing to get it done. I still screwed it up a little, but nothing detrimental.
