Hard time starting after a few stops. Any ideas why?

Made a few stops today in the FD running my friend around getting his car fixed. About 4 in a span of 50 minutes. What I mean by stops is, is actually turning off the car and getting out then turning the car back on 10 to 15 minutes later. I didn't run the car hard while driving it either, but at the third stop, my car had a hard time starting. It's done this before. After making a few stops, when I try and start the car, it just cranks for about 4 seconds. I didn't want to keep cranking it because I didn't want to burn up my starter. After about a few tries without any success, I just ended up giving it some gas while starting and it barely started chugging at about 400 rpms before the car started to come alive. Car has 84000 miles on engine. Plugs and wires are about 7 months old changed by the previous owner. Any diagnosis' from anyone?

Thanks for your input. What gets me is that after the times of it starting like that, after driving it, stopping, then starting it up again it seemed a little better. During the hard starts, my vacuum readings dropped to 11 psi. When driving it for a bit then letting it idle at a stop sign, the vacuum was reading a healthy 17 psi. I dont get it. Could it be because it was running hot? But if it was running hot wouldn't it keep being hard to start? Like I said, The car has been acting like this during times of me running errands where I have to turn off the car and start it up again. I have no clue why it does it.
