This is hard to explain...(vacuum/boost)

Car runs strong at WOT, under normal acceleration once the needle (boost gauge) goes to boost and drops a little (less pressure on accelerator) the needle will bounce 1-2psi (kind-of like hunting) then if It falls to vacuum then it will bounce a little more until I find a good pressure on the accelerator. Anyone heard of such a problem? This might have something to do with the howling turbo also (when not at full boost and normal acceleration wwwwwrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhllllllll).

It's always one thing with these cars, fix something to reveal something else...and when there's nothing else, you'll look and listen to find that something else..."Did you hear that noise coming from inside the heater vent?" "Well, looks like I have to rip the motor out and see if I can fix it"

Is it safe to assume that your idle is steady? Sounds like it could be your TPS out of adjustment, but that should cause the idle to hunt as well. TPS can also make it difficult to hold constant RPM's when cruising or reving the motor under no load.

If you are getting a flutter under moderate acceleration, it could be ignition related (plugs, wires, etc.)

I am not sure what to make of the howling turbo's. I assume that could be your problem, but I have never experienced something like that. In fact, I have never had a set that had any problems what so ever. I guess I am lucky?

Good luck.

Jeff

It's not the rpms that are having the problem, its turbo related. I know the system is complicated, guess it's time I crack down and start alot of reading. Maybe wastegate having problems or some rod or something??? Any other suggestions?
