So, sometimes i hear a sound coming from under my hood that sounds a lot like an old hard drive accessing. I was wondering if anyone knew what this was? Only mods i have done to my car are downpipe and airpump removal. Engine was rebuilt ~10k miles ago.

I've had my relays make sounds of that nature. Shouldn't be very hard to track down.

 

I have heard a similar sound, but for me it sounds like it is coming from the transmission.

 

Yeah - I had the same sound in my driver footwell area. Was caused by relays attached to a crappy aftermarket alarm that were activating randomly.
