half bridge with stock 99 twins???
hey people, I have already searched and put up a post about half bridge's and street ports, and have come to the conclusion that because of the high rpm power band of the half bridge at about 8 or 9000rpm and the stock tiwns power maxing out at about 7000rpm that they don not really match each other for perfromance, please correct me if im wrong
What I would like to know is that if I get the half bridge done and keep the twins and just drive it fairly quietly untill i can afford an upgrade to the bnr stage 3's, will this be ok or would it cause complications of some sort??
Thanks for your time Mark

I think it's no big deal, since you're not looking for absolute maximum power. The power band of any ported rotary is at the very top, and the peak efficiency of the turbos will nearly always be somewhere below that.
I think the real question is how efficient the turbos will be if you run it at redline - I think you'll need a pretty nice intercooler or sprayer setup to keep your charge temps down.

BDC claims the half bridge, when done right, produces a good powerband from 3,000 rpm on up, and the turbo spools faster because you are moving more air, but yeah the little twins would be overwhelmed

hey guys thanks for that yeah I was planning on an intercooler, hadnt really thought about a sprayer setup,...... And i was only planning on having the stock twins till i could afford some bnr stage 3 Have been told that they would handle it,
So it sounds like it should be sweet as long as im not staying up in the red line, so will just take a bit of lead out of my boot till i get the bnr
Thanks heap for your opinions it has helpd heaps ,
Thanks mark
