from the looks of the pics the fire originated at the rear secondary injector upper o-ring (notice the "hat" oring is still there so it didnt fail or it would be completely gone. Could be the primary rear injector but I cant see it well enough from the pics.

^wow again great customer service. Also I would keep insurance away from this the only make problems worse. tough luck it happened but lucky you caught it right away good luck with rebuild

dang it......that blows. I know you tested the fuel system up to 100PSI but remember that is only in your fuel lines and with-held WITHIN the injectors. Your fuel lines were probly good to go without leaks. But the seal between your Injectors and the LIM was probly where the leak happened. Forced induction pushes against the injectors and that's my guess on where the leak sprang. Were you in boost or shortly thereafter a pull when it caught? Damn shame though man.. I feel for you brotha!

I'm really sorry to see this. I know how it feels. You seem to be taking it pretty well though, all things considered. And it wasnt as big as some of the fires can get, which is something I guess. Good luck rebuilding it

Yeah, we'll maybe you are damaging the injectors by adding the extra pressure, have you ever cracked a injector? You should be able to rotate them with a little pressure, mine secondaries wouldn't move at all,
but go right ahead and keep cranking on them, injectors shouldn't bottom out, when they bottom out that's to much pressure.
Not my first Rodeo, so maybe you should ask the FFE if you injectors should rotate with a little pressure.

You will see how the secondaries are melted inside the hat area, and the primaries only around the connector area.

wiggling your injectors back and forth in the rail only means the orings are still lubed from installation. theres no set "wiggle" to them. the more you move them back and forth, the more you risk tearing an oring if anything. if they werent completely seated in the rail and boost pressure pushed them up a bit then its possible it rolled the lower or upper o-ring (or started to roll it out of its channel) which would cause the leak.

So if my rails are tightened all the way that means the injector is fully seated, so boost shouldnt push the injector anywhere.
they didn't leak from boost pushing the injector, they leak from being crack from to much pressure from the rail.
Hopefully this doesn't happen to anybody else.
