If you ask me the fire was caused by the TB! Hahahahahahah sucks to see brother but I'm sure you will build it bigger and better. Time for some 2000's!

This just doesn't make sense especially since you leak checked it beforehand. I'll PM you my cell phone so we can go over everything.

At minimum, we'll get you replacement fuel hose, injectors, and anything else we can at our cost.

from the looks of the pics the fire originated at the rear secondary injector upper o-ring (notice the "hat" oring is still there so it didnt fail or it would be completely gone. Could be the primary rear injector but I cant see it well enough from the pics.

You are pretty much right on the spot, I'm 99.9% sure it was rear secondary.

dang it......that blows. I know you tested the fuel system up to 100PSI but remember that is only in your fuel lines and with-held WITHIN the injectors. Your fuel lines were probly good to go without leaks. But the seal between your Injectors and the LIM was probly where the leak happened. Forced induction pushes against the injectors and that's my guess on where the leak sprang. Were you in boost or shortly thereafter a pull when it caught? Damn shame though man.. I feel for you brotha!

I probably hit a few psi of boost between gears as I was on the way home from depot, local road with cops everywhere, funny thing is last weekend I went to a meet down south and on the way back I did a couple 28psi pulls without issues.

So after thinking what I was going to do next, I decided that I will take the engine out to do a Semi P Port and have my rotating assemblies balanced, will also switch from the S366 to a S480.

I'm really sorry to see this. I know how it feels. You seem to be taking it pretty well though, all things considered. And it wasnt as big as some of the fires can get, which is something I guess. Good luck rebuilding it

Why all the horrible fire threads lately???? Its making me really nervous

I wouldn't necessarily blame the rails... Mine are as sturdy as steel.. and I tightened mine down a bit more and my injectors don't rotate anymore.

Yeah, we'll maybe you are damaging the injectors by adding the extra pressure, have you ever cracked a injector? You should be able to rotate them with a little pressure, mine secondaries wouldn't move at all,

but go right ahead and keep cranking on them, injectors shouldn't bottom out, when they bottom out that's to much pressure.

Not my first Rodeo, so maybe you should ask the FFE if you injectors should rotate with a little pressure.

mine rotated slightly...and maybe i'll back them off a tid-bit. But maybe you had them too tight then? Just saying....not trying to harp on you..but maybe the failure came from a cracked injector and not from the seal itself?

And that's what I'm trying to say, it wasn't a seal. The secondary cracked due to much pressure from rail that's all I got to say, I will post pics of the injectors and you can see clearly that the leak came from between the injector and the top hat.

You will see how the secondaries are melted inside the hat area, and the primaries only around the connector area.

wiggling your injectors back and forth in the rail only means the orings are still lubed from installation. theres no set "wiggle" to them. the more you move them back and forth, the more you risk tearing an oring if anything. if they werent completely seated in the rail and boost pressure pushed them up a bit then its possible it rolled the lower or upper o-ring (or started to roll it out of its channel) which would cause the leak.

So if my rails are tightened all the way that means the injector is fully seated, so boost shouldnt push the injector anywhere.

they didn't leak from boost pushing the injector, they leak from being crack from to much pressure from the rail.

Hopefully this doesn't happen to anybody else.
