can you gutt your down pipe and will it give you hp?

 

Don't bother. Just buy an aftermarket DP

 

I have a gutted precat I will sell for real cheap.

 

i just gutted my precat and cat. the fd has one of the nastiest cats i have ever gutted. if you can buy a downpipe or the above mentioned gutted precat do it. you have to cut the side of the cat apart and reweld when done. there is no stabbing out the honeycomb on this one. interesting note though, the car is barely louder with no cats and the stock catback, power is much improved.

 

Garfinkle has gutted some and replaced the covers to look stock . You will feel a good increase in power for free if you can use a hack saw and welder . Good advice, buy a down pipe because of better flow and more heat can get out of the engine bay .
