Guess what revved on me today?!?

Well I pull onto an open 6 lane street (60mph limit and no cars around) and in my rear view mirror I see a yellow car, looks like a Cobra. Hmm, so I slowly drive to the next intersection, and to my luck it turned red. He finally came up and I admired it as he drove up. Let me tell you this car was beautiful, lines like a fine woman, wide *** tires, and looked brand new. I tried to smile at the guy and give him a thumbs up on his car, but he didn't even look over. So I put the car in gear, and waited. As I waited, my car rolled a few inches forward, not on purpose mind you, and the guy next to me revved his engine a few times. I look down at my PFC and it's at 82, so I know we're good to go. When he revved his engine all I could smell from his side exhaust was gas, so I'm thinking I'm gonna get creamed. Oh well, nothing to lose, right?

The light turns green, he peels out, and I, duh, bog a little on the take as I was still admiring his car. Well I wind through first, and second, and I am getting close to him. I know he was still on it as his engine was very loud and up there on the rpms. I hit third and I start to gain on him. I get next to him and we're both still on it. I shift into fourth and with full throttle I am slowly starting to pass him. Then I realized I am in fourth at full throttle, so I let off, ease the brakes and slow to 60, he still goes a little. Next light is red as we pull up. It turns green right before I completely stop. I'm thinking to myself, crap, no gear is good now. I throw it into second, rev to 3500 and "slowly" let off. In the meantime my tail is a little wiggly, while he's on his torque and a good car and a half on me. I again go through second, and I am gaining on him through third. After that, we drove normally down the road, and he never even acknowleged me. What a rush anyway. Then a guy in an F350 pulls up next to me and gives me the thumbs up as he watched form behind.

Then on the way home from Costco, (like Sams Club, etc,) with a trunk full of stuff, I come to a light, right next to a new Yamaha R6 bike. Blue and looked fast standing still. I didn't think much of it, as we both started off slowly. I am not sure about bikes, but it sounded like he was going pretty high on the RPMs, slowly. So I mashed the gas and off I go.
He takes the que and with a high pitch whine he is right next to me. Through 3rd he pulls very slowly away, at the end of third he was about a full bike ahead, until I, duh, forgot to shift, as in my amazement that I am keeping up. Fuel cut. Bad, very bad, I've never been dumb enough to do that, but I experienced it today, at 8150; that is what the PFC is set at. What a dope I am. Oh well, I sure had fun today. I sure do love my car; right behind my wife !

PS. I normally don't write about this stuff, but I just had to share. Maybe the guy woulda gave me the thumbs up if I would have let him win.
