guage warning light
weird question....my low fuel warning signal (little amber light on fuel gauge) isn't working...and i've almost run out of fuel a couple of times...since i've got my dash apart does anyone out there know if this is fixable? I do see the replaceable bulbs on the back of the cluster but i don't know if these are just for nightime illumination or if i have to take the actual cluster completely apart! Any help appreciated

r u stupid man?
sorry but i cant believe that u drive your FD to the point where u may run out of fuel. i would never drive with less than a quarter tank of gas, thats just asking for trouble. youll more than likely fry you fuel pump not to mention your motor
but now that thats said, you can in fact exchange the light bulb if its burnt out. the only prob is gettin to it, in order to do that u have to pull out your entire guage cluster... not an easy or quick job. some of the bulbs are for illumination but the one u want is just used for the little amber warning light, just look at which bulb lines up with the hole u want. once u get the cluster out like u have now the bulb just twists out
good luck

I've heard people say that light turns on at different levels in different cars. It might just be a setting as opposed to a bulb. that's as far as I can help you.

If you just put the key in the on position without starting the car, the light should come on. If not, you've got a burnt bulb. If the light does come on, but not when you are running low on gas, then you've got a bad connection on the fuel level sensor.
I don't know how to change the bulb if that's what you need to do. But, check to make sure it's a bulb burnt before you tear more things apart.
