Grounding the hood pin to disable alarm

I was getting no help in another thread about how to ground the hood pin in order to disable the factory alarm so here's a devoted thread. Does anybody know where this hood pin is that would allow me to disable the factory alarm so I can stop my damn lights from popping up and down when my aftermarket alarm is dissabled? (I get made fun of when my horns start beepin too cuz their so puney)

It's on the back-side of the hood latch bracket [circled in red]:

There is an electrical conector back there that you can simply unplug!

Remove the drivers side kick panel.
Unplug the white 20 pin connector.
Unplug the white 8 pin connector that is directly above the 20 pin connector.
Reinstall the kick panel.

Viola, Done!

so simply disconnect that plug would "ground the pin" and disable the alarm? would it affect any other systems or does that pin serve any other purpose?

please help! my alarm keeps going on randomly in the middle of the night and my neighbors are pissed and i'm losing sleep...

Just follow the link to Nopistons and do that. Unplug the two white connectors from the CPU behind the driver's kick panel, and the alarm is TOTALLY disabled.

Yes, grounding that pin will not permit your factory alarm to fully arm again. It will still allow the power locks to work and all but never arm.

I simply unplugged the alarm behind the driver's side kick panel and I couldn't ask for any more now. My aftermarket alarm works fine and never disrupts the stock alarm anymore.

thanks guys

my chief concern is if there're other systems that go thru those two connectors in cpu #2. for instance, after i unplugged 'em the ignition key hole light doesn't come on anymore. that's petty but i'm wondering if there're other systems that're disabled that i'm not aware of

i never noticed that, makes me wonder the same thing too. You can still get away with just unplugging the hood pin if you're really worried.

Question

Can't you just take the white thing off the lock mechanism itself? I forgot what it's called. That's all I did to disable it.
