I spoke with Rob at Pineapple Racing. Budget $450 bones, but they are NOT in stock, since the person doing the casting is out on vacation.

Also, it uses VITON for the O-ring.

so 450 for the manifold or oil pan?

for some reason I dont think that 450 is worth it and the stock manifold will be fine. unless this manifold gives you atleast an extra 10whp, then theres no point.

What about the 4 port one ?? , Reason is , I went out and got the whole pro-jay setup , now this LIM comes along !. I'm wondering if I should just sell the projay set up and buy this one and reuse the stock UIM.

Except that in theory the stock lim is the root of many many engines blowing

I think the projay would be better. With the upgraded lim in this thread you'll still have the stock uim. If you already have all the projay stuff and dont mind spending the $ on it I'd just go that route.

Can I see some proof? Maybe you can assume that over time its bad for the motor but even that is hard to prove. It may give alittle more flow equally, but is it worth 450bones?

I ordered both from Ralph and they should be here next week. I will be upgrading many things so I will not be able to give any #'s relating to this though.

Here's what she looks like polished. I also did some gasket match porting. I have to smooth out the runners tomarrow before I put it on. I am going to gasket match the upper intake too. The upper needs alot of material removed to match the gasket.

I have been doing the exact same thing to mine. I recieved it a few days ago. Doing some gasket matching at the motor. The upper gasket to the UIM looks OK. Its about 1mm inside the gasket after I pollished the inside of the runners. I had to open up the UIM runners a bit though.

Yea I agree, the UIM is pretty bad. It would have been nice to see some before and after flow-bench testing, but hell, what we are doing has to help.

Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a major fitment issue if you have the A-spec GT-40R kit since the snail is right up against the intake. I thought I was going to have to aborth the project but i do not give up too easily.

I had to do some serious modifications to make it work. I will post pics later.

You've got me worried now. What did you have to do? Grind down the outside of the mani?

Mine seemed to fit fine with a TO4R and XS manifold. Tons of room. Your minifold must sit pretty high.

going back to the oil pan. I wouldn't feel comfortable with my pan hanging that low past the subframe. I like the fact that the factory pan tucks inside. It would suck if someone bottomed out their car. But I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too. I wonder if raising the motor via motor mounts would change the alignment of the tranny, clutch and driveshaft and if their would be any consequences.

What turbo kit are you using?

I had to grind down the top, front bolt area that holds the LIM to the block, Grind some of the outside of the front runner, and modify, I mean modify the compressor housing. YOu have to grind a fair bit off of the portion of the compressor housing that sits against the manifold.

You dont have a set of stock twins lying around, just to see how bad the fit is with the stock twins? maybe take a pic or two.
