Greddy Ti Exhaust Modification

I recently purchased a used Greddy Ti Exhaust off of a fellow forum member. It arrived w. all the require hardware and was in relatively good condition.

So I had it put on today by a well recommended muffler shop. It's sticking rather far out past the rear bumper cover, making it look kind of goofy. It's also resting against the bottom side of the bumper and is beginning to melt the plastic.

Has anyone else had this issue? Any recommendations? I love the sound of this exhaust and my only complaints are those above.

If it's of any relevance, I'm still running the stock cat and dp. Both of which I'll be replacing when I can afford the Power FC to provide some control.

My suggestion is go back to the place that installed it.

Tell them the problem, then when they put the car on the lift, go take a look.

An exhaust made for our car shouldnt have a problem you're experiencing.

Although my friend did run into the same problem as yours, something about they had to weld in a spacer because the rubber hooks didnt line up with the hangers on the exhaust so they had to cut and splice or add to make it fit, thus resulting in my friends exhaust sticking out about 4-5 inches further out than normal.

EDIT: did you not notice it when they dropped the car back on the ground? First thing i do after someone handles my car is go do a THOROUGH inspection of it. Im VERY **** when it comes to my cars.

That's what I had thought, made for the car should fit perfect. I did look at it briefly, guess I was too excited and got distracted. Once I got out of work I took a closer look and gave them a call, bringing it back on Monday.

I had asked them if there were any difficulties, all he said was the stock bolts were a royal pain in the *** to get out.

Did your friend have to have it shortened? I don't think I can bare having it stick out ~5".

Yeah def bring it back. You are a returning customer with some unsatisfactory feelings, they shouldnt give you a hard time nor charge you to put your car back on the lift.

Or simply ask them why does it stick out.

No my friend didnt bother fixing that problem. He is very lazy and retarded when it comes to his cars. For instance, he changes his oil EXACT 3000 miles. Regardless of time and/or oil color. lol

So if his oil is black and its been 9 months, yet he only did 2000 miles, he will wait that 1000 miles to do the oil change. So yeah, thats how it is for him lol

Different exhaust unless you have an exhaust shop cut out about 2-3 inches of the piping and hang it slightly different.

Most shops charge by the hour. 75.00 is usually the going rate.

You GOTTA watch them though cause an easy job they can milk it to charge you more.

I remember there were TWO guys who took their sweet *** time changing an exhaust for my friends e46 M3. My friend didnt care cause he said they're doing it right if they take their time.

Came out to like 250 bucks.

Thats NOT doing it right, he just got raped. lol

Not bad. She was down for a few months.

Now just trying to get this situation sorted out. I bought used so I could get a good feal for it, don't want to spend a fortune on something that may be replaced sooner than later.
