Greddy SMIC w/ Pettit duct install ?'s

I am looking to install my Greddy SMIC with a Pettit duct. I read Rob Robinette's writeup and it seems fairly straightforward. I have a few questions.

1) How difficult is it to remove the stock ducting and plastic moldings around it?

2) How does the Greddy unit mount? or does it just sit on top of the cross-member and prop against the duct? There are two bolt tabs on the frontside (facing the radiator) of my Greddy SMIC that I don't see what or where they bolt to.

3) How much cutting of the Pettit duct is required? The duct I bought looks exactly like the one in Rob Robinette's writeup.

4) Any tips or helpful hints to make the install go smoothly? or is it just purely more simple than I think it is?

Any advice is welcome. Thanks.

I have posted here and the other site about this before, but:

If you have the stock ducting in good condition then why would you want to get rid of it for the Pettit duct? ...don't do it!

It does not come with a duct because it is made to work with the stock ducting. No it's not a perfect fit but Pettit won't be either. More importantly, the stock duct cools off the battery and prevents battery leaks and corosion eating the steel away.

1. According to Robinetti's site, he used tin snips and was a pain. Mine was allready broken off.

2. It just uses one bolt on the pasenger side to that crossmember bar thing. The two holes front/top are for bolts to screw in the metal heat shield/cover dealybop.

3. The pasenger side overlaps the IC and needs triming. The bottom will need triming. If you are good with a dremel, you can notch out 1/4" (I think) for that overlap of the tank on the top. I used a cordless circular saw (connected to my vacuum cleaner to suck up the fiberglass dust).

4. Simple? Yeah, if you are MacGyver. Sand paper, painters mask, protective glasses, cordless saw, dremel, test fit several times, all day available.

5. Try contacting jt-imports and see if you can purchase the duct for Knightsports SMIC seperately from the kit instead. Ask Jason if it needs any modification to fit, it doesn't look like it.
