Is the GReddy SMIC sufficient for my needs?

The car will be street/autoX only (okay, maybe a drag or two at the strip).

I know the M2 is generally regarded as a better SMIC, but I'll probably be using the Apex intake since I'm buying almost all my parts from RP (hopefully with a mild discount). If it's important enough, I can snag a different intake elsewhere, but I'd like to keep it at RP if possible.

Is the GReddy going to be sufficient running an Apex'i RX6 turbo with all the fixin's?

TIA,

-E

If your going to go with a SMIC, don't waste your time on the Greddy, it is not worth it! The only SMIC I would get is the M2, which is what I have. Think Big!!!

The GReddy is great. It's not the best but if you don't need the best (as very few of us on this board do) then buy what you want. AutoXing is very hard on intercoolers though because of the short low speed runs with down time in-between. I use my GReddy for autoX and racing on closed circuits and I have more of a problem at autoX.

Hmm...that would indicate to me that I need to look at the M2 after all.

The vast majority of really hard driving will be at the AutoX.

Now I just gotta figure out what intake will fit, and how to explain this to RP.

The M2 medium might be percect for your needs - it is noticeably bigger - I think it is around 510 cu. inches where the Greddy is high 300s. If you don't mind moving your battery to the rear then the M2 Race or CWC IC are great at cooling. The Greddy IC you can use any intake with- but the M2 you can't use the Apexi intake with.
