GReddy SMIC, am I missing something?

It is possible that the Greddy intercooler sits differently than the SRM so you may be able to squeeze it to fit. The duct itself actually sits quite low.

One thing I found with a (very well sealed) Pettit duct and the Greddy IC: when the fans come on and the car is stationary, air will flow in a circle through the fans, backwards through the IC, out the duct, and back towards the radiator. This causes the IC to heatsoak almost instantly, of course.
To try to combat this, I put in a small SPAL fan - it fits beautifully on the Greddy SMIC. That helped a little, but not as much as I had hoped, probably because the fan can only cover the portion of the IC away from the downpipe. I think adding a scoop to drop the nose of the Pettit duct and move it forward a bit (like silverbullet's duct below) would help too, in addition to pulling more air into the IC when the car is underway. I think Pettit may have even sold such a thing as on option at one time.
Anyway, it is easy to check for this reverse flow - just hold a string or piece of teflon tape in the mouth of the duct when the fans are on, and see which way the air is flowing.

Here are some more pictures I found of my SRM intercooler with the stock duct:
And here is a much cleaner look with a Pettit duct:
The Greddy is slightly wider and longer so I would guess that it will be pretty tight in there with the stock airbox and battery. The SRM just fits with both installed.
As soon as I can find someone to sell me a leter design M2 large, I'll be selling this setup.
