Greddy Relief Valve instead of cats?
I was wondering if anyone had already done this. I was thinking about dropping all cats, and putting a Greddy relief valve in to release the boost spike, and avoid as much turbo lag as I can. Has anyone done this, or see any problems with it?
I went to Non Sequential by the way so that's the lag I'm talking about.

Search 'POV' or 'Pop Off Valve' to see why it's not a good idea.
*edit* for those that will not bother looking, it's NOT a good idea to control creep and is a bandaid for regular occuring spikes - but is good as a last line of defense for things like wastegate failure.
BTW Jason, where is my POV??

Alright that makes alot of sense after doing the search on POV. I also came across an idea when looking at the threads. If I have turbo lag from restrictor plates or cats on the exhaust then that means my turbos are not spooled up as quickly, right. Ok so if I take the restriction out of the exhaust, and add the restriction to the factory airbox, I will have the turbos spooled up before the restriction becomes soo much to not allow the turbos to over boost. Does this make sense? Basically as everyone knows the turbos are driven by the exhaust, and if I can get them driven very fast, but then once they are driven fast enough, restrict them with the amount of air they can suck, then I'll have less lag time because they will be upto speed quickly, but I won't have boost creep because the restricted airbox will prevent the turbos from being able to build too much boost. I know everyone is going to tell me to buy the performance ECU, but for now, I want to open up the exhaust for the non sequential setup to have for less lag time, but still maintain, my stock boost levels. My autometer guage is reading, 7.5 psi right now, and I think it's because the cats are getting clogged on me. (133K miles on factory downpipe, and main cat) I've also heard that autometer guages are 2 psi off sometimes. Stock levels for the ECU are for 10psi right. So I should be able to dial in my Air/Fuel ratio that is now running rich, by restricting my intake alot, and then adjusting it from there, to get the best A/F ratio/10psi.

for all the info. I went non sequential by the way, because it involved less of a vacuum hose nightmare when replacing the motor. Plus I love that turbo rush without the pause during the switchover process.
