Question Greddy Pully Question (searched coudlnt find the answer)

Alright guys im getting ready to place an order for a few parts and i was thinking about picking up the greddy pulley set. From all the posts ive seen about them people mention it allows you to remove the air pump. My question is do i have to remove the air pump,b/c i really dont want to (its pretty new). and will the belt that comes with that accomidate me NOT removing the air pump. and what are the disadvantages (if any) to the greddy pulley set. thanks for the help.

Oh and if the pulleys really dont do much what else would help some aspect of the car for around the same price. i have the boost gauges already, and im ordering the turbo timer, so anything else that comes to mind?

Turbo timer is a waste of money, in my opinion.

Stay off the boost for the last minute of your drive and you don' need one.

My reply but I could be wrong

Mine is still mounted. I beleive it's "only" purpose is to remove the smog pump. If you are looking for HP then you can get Indigo or Unorthodox pulleys. I am still running my smog pump with the pulleys installed. Try finding that belt size in stock. I have no idea if it's ok to just disconnect it and leave it in the motor without it running and byspassing it with the Greddy kit.

M2 makes the same pulley kit as Greddy but they offer a longer belt for those that want to keep the smog pump.

I don't think that turbo timer's are a waste of time at all. I have "street raced" from the middle of Okinawa back to about 10 kilometers before we hit our usual hangout spot(probably about 50-100 kilometers total trip). I usually take it easy the last 10 to 20 kilometers...stay off the boost, never go above 3000 rpms etc...

then I get to our hangout and pop open the hood...and my exhaust housing is GLOWING That's after probably less than 10 minutes of street cruising to cool down the engine....

...and my turbo timer has a built in auto feature...STILL turns itself off after 3 + minutes AFTER my normal cool down cruise..
