GReddy aluminum oil pan at SEMA

just found out that GReddy is going to release an aluminum oil pan for the FD at SEMA. don't have any pics now, but some guys i know who are "in the know", just called me. i'll post pics when they send me some.

not sure on the details of it though. i was planning on buying the Aspec one, but from what i hear, this is similar to other pans made by greddy. IE. larger oil capacity, cooling fins, etc... as long as it is robust like the aspec i think it will be cool, otherwise i'll still end up buying the Aspec...

kinda wierd how they are releasing this 2 years after the car stopped being made, don't you think they shoulda cashed in on it back in like 97 or something?

It is weird, the cars are being trashed in Japan, front clips off good cars are showing up here...

That would be nice. I kind of doubt it, as it hasn't even been released in Japan. I've seen Greddy's SR oil pan in person, and that thing was just GORGEOUS. I'd really love an FD option!

I'd love to get one. Hopefully it will mean less chance of leaking as well. As with most things GReddy, I expect it to be a little on the expensive side.

If it is anything like the Greddy oil pan for the SR20...it'll be pricey.

any chance your "in the Know" source could be talking about a Rx8?

As like others I think they would have done it already for the FD

They should have made the factory pan more robust back in the early 90's when the car was introduced.
I think that the aftermarket should have "cashed in" on it back when the first oil leak was ever reported. I dont think you could find a car guy (especially a sports car guy) that wouldnt love a little extra oil capacity.

Pineapple/Ground Zero makes one that we reviewed in the Sept issue of RX Tuner ... it's a really nice piece.
