great, just great, starting problem

So I go out to get food, come back, shut off the car, go out to restart it 15 min later. NOTHING I turn the key over, and I just hear a buzzing noise, and the fans that stayed on when it came back on, shut off when I turn the key over. The lights dim and everything but the engine doesnt even turn over. I dont need this right now, can someone please help.

Turn key over, nothing happens, I here a buzz (its not the fuel pump), and nothing.

Yeah, my starter ground cable was loose recently. Would not turn over at all. Ready to order a new starter, when I noticed the loose connection.

Cleaned the connection, tightened it down, and it started right back up.

Try undoing both the power and ground cables - clean the connections with sandpaper, and snug tight. Probably has a build up of crud to prevent a good connection.

A basic way to check the battery is to turn on your interior lights, and trying to start the car. If they flicker or dim, it's usually a good sign that the battery is going. (This is assuming it's not the starter, or that it's been previously checked.)
