Is a grade 8.8 bolt ok for use on flywheel?

Lost one Pressure Plate bolt. Stealership wants 11 bucks for a new one. Should I wait and see if I can get one from Malloy, or just use a grade 8.8 I got at Ace Hardware down the street?

Does it say 8.8 on top? It would make sense on a metric bolt, but that's not as strong as a Grade 8 bolt. A Grade 8 bolt would have 6 lines on the top of it and be plenty strong. A metric bolt should have 10.9 on the top of it-that's roughly equivelant to a Grade 8, a little stronger actually.
If you go to a store that just specializes in fasteners they should be able to find you one, no problem.

Thank you for the responses. Now I know that metric and SAE have different scales, and I’m glad I asked.
I’ve been having trouble finding the bolt in the Bay Area. The fastener store I went to didn’t have it and suggested another store named Mr. Metric which also didn’t have it. I may have to order it.
