Well I picked up my new project on Friday for $8,000. I found a 93 Vintage Red R1 locally. It is totally stock with 49,200 actual miles. It still pulls pretty hard. I have to get it painted as my first step and then start the reliability/performance mods soon. I will post some pics as soon as the snow melts!

 

I can't beleive you picked up an r1 with 49k for $8000. I'm jealous.

 

What a deal! I got mine for 9500 brand new in 2004 O way thats my Yamaha. haha

Wow, good find. I picked up my R1 back in dec of 1998 for $18,000 with 27k miles on it.

 

I was happy with the deal, but don't get me wrong...it needs some love. The window tint is peeling and I am having that removed soon. I have to get a catback since the muffler has a huge hole in it. And the paint is pretty bad. I am looking to add about $2800 to the amount I paid for it with these three alone.

 

thats nothing i've plunked over 3k in my R1 and recently the tranny took a dump,but if u love it you'll sacrifice yourself, I know I have and will continue to

thats an awesome deal! my BB fd has great factory paint but still not good enough for my liking. just lots of other stuff to do first
