Makes me remember I completely forgot to get a ride in your car at the Chrsi Carlisi event. Really wanted to - damn. Maybe next year we'll swap and do a write up on the forum

Should I ask Rich's dad to do a write up on my car or should I just be happy the car made it back in one piece?

Then, over the winter, I am going to experiment with exhausts and probably go with a 2.5 inch exhaust for higher velocity and more scavenging. I have a few interesting ideas that should work with NA that don't work with turbo'd motors.

Again, over the winter, I may try Individual Throttle Bodies (ITB's) with short velocity stacks and an air cleaner. Not sure. I am targeting about 350-375 whp and the same level of refinement I have now. I will sacrifice some power for that refinement.

If I wanted max power, I would go with ITB's and a p-port. There's a guy in England making 413 with the same specs (high compression rotors, p-port, custom exhaust, but no ITB's) and one in Australia with the addition of ITB's making 478. I don't need or want that much power and won't go p-port because it will ruin the refined sound and idle the motor has.

Gordon

Very nice Gordon! You know just the other day while scrolling through your pics I was wondering about your decision to go with the stock TB and manifolds. Looks like you just answered my questions . I'll be running a very similar setup to yours and will have ITB's and custom manifolds. I'm hoping you'll be able to try out your 2.5" exhaust theory and let us all know the differences. I was personally debating whether to go 3" or something a bit smaller.

Keep up the great work! Your car is VERY impressive and an excellent example of how these cars can be catered to each and everyone's distinctive tastes.

It wasn't me Gordon, it was Garrett that went with Rich senior. The expression on Garrett's face after the ride said it all I think!

I don't know when I will do the exhaust. Perhaps in October. The first step will be to add a chokedown collar to the collector and just stick a 2.5 inch pipe on all the way back, redyno and see what and where the gains are. Since I have a lot of personal constraints on what changes I can or will make, I may spend a lot more time on the exhaust. I have always wanted to try some sort of variable exhaust setup. At least try the Ferrari route of having a secondary pipe that opens over some rpm or other parameter, so that the exhaust has high velocity at lower rpm and then opens up at high rpm.

Str8ryd, where are you now in your build?

Gordon
Gordon, doesn't Andrew (3 rotor Canadian) have something like this in his exhaust? He let me listen to it at the event and there is definitely something in there that opens up. You might want to check with him.
