Finally it's finished. Looks very nice and clean. Is the hood Carbon Creations also or VIS?

Car looks great man.

I'm just curious why ppl would buy CF body parts like front bumpers and fenders? You can't play w/ fitment, either it's gonna fit or it's gonna gape, and if it gets hit hard enough, it won't crack so you can just repair it...CF shatters. And that's into a million and one peices...so I just don't see the benefit, esp. when bumpers are available in fiberglass and polyfiber (from VIS), which is prob just as light as CF, and the stock fenders are pretty darn light as it is...

Oil cooler vents, not brake vents.

You sure about that?

Unless I'm mistaken... it's clearly the brake vents that are painted

no, that fender vent is for the oil cooler...suprisingly in the fender wall lining there are staples that close off a section of the liner to allow the air from the oil coolers to vent through the fender wall and then through that fender vent. The brake ducts were from the stock R1, R2, or 99 spec lip which supposedly (mazda said) helped duct air towards the rotors to cool them. But on this bumper the front air vent is large enough to through air around to cool the brakes and the oil coolers effectively

Well, honestly, when i posted, the c/f contrasting with the silver didn't strike my fancy, but now that i look at it more and more, i'm beginning to like it.

Absolutely. The next time you take off a front tire, remove one of the fender liners to get a better look.

I definitely will. It's funny it took me this long to discover this haha. It sure looks like it's in the perfect place for a brake duct tho!

random parking lot, & random car in the background...haha

check out how someone STOLE my rear centercaps...gotta wait 2 weeks to get new ones too!

some people wanted to see how the gaps were on the carbon creations parts. dont forget, that bumper & fender are both carbon fiber...fits pretty well huh?

you can kind of see the melted orange part in the PROCARPARTS.COM 99SPEC SIGNAL......

im sure ill post more after i get a nice photoshoot...

Tom,

It looks good. My car has been in the body shop for a LONG time getting a 99 Spec bumper, Apexi Sides and a fresh coat of Montego. Hopefully I'll get it back early next week.

Later....

Alan

Paint the Brake VENT..

the 1 MILLION $$ question, Whats UNDER the HOOD??

Just got a question about Carbon fiber body parts.. IE Fenders and other parts
that are vulnerable to DOOR dings and etc..

HOW do they HOLD UP?? Do they DING like body parts or do they just shatter
if hit hard enough like Saturn bodies?? just curious..

BTW car looks sweet

That thing looks mean. I'm liking the exposed black CF fender vent and in combo with the hood. I think it's a nice setup. Great job.
