Good painjob pricing

My FD has paint cracking all over the place and a few scratches from a hit and run. I want to make itlook clean and shiny again. How much should i expect to pay for a good paintjob?

I was quoted between 3500 and 4000k without getting the door jams or engine bay painted.

It's tough to give an estimate with so many variables. How good of a job are you willing to pay for? If the paints cracking, that's an adhesion issue that has to be dealt with, usually by stripping. Is there any other bodywork? Will they take off all trim, bumper covers, mirrors, hood, hatch etc? What kind of materials does the shop use? Clearcoat?
It might be easier to decide what your budget is, find a TRUSTED shop and see how good of a job you can afford.

Since you are in the Bay Area, it will probably be close to $5k for a reasonable quality job. $300-$500 per panel is what I have paid in recent years. That included removing and reinstalling all trim and stripping existing paint.

moconnor is right for Bay Area. The Works in Santa Clara is a first-class body shop....they will be about 7k for a full paint job. Lesser places will probably be in the 5k range. I would not pay less than that in the Bay Area.
