Goo removal & Polish

Wasnt sure where i should post this so i'll just throw it here.

I picked up a used FMIC, its got old tape thats kind of melted on to it and im trying to remove it. I was going to pick up some goo-gone and try that, but i want something thats not going to fade the polish on the end tanks. If you can recommend any products for goop removal that wont hurt the finish that'd be great.

also, whatever polish recommendations you guys have for getting your chrome engine bays blingin

thanks guys.

Goo-Gone will work awesome, won't hurt the polished aluminum. It'll take some elbow grease, but it'll get that crap off easy.

To polish, Mother's aluminum polish. It comes in a little metal can. Rub it on with a rag, then buff off with another. If you want to go full-on, get the Mother's polishing ball and use that with a drill - that sucker works REALLY well, gets out a lot of small scratches and stuff too.

basically what you do is spray the cologne on the adhesive, take a razor blade and scrap it right off. The alcohol in the cologne breaks down the adhesive.

Depending on what cologne you use, that sounds like it could be an expensive trick

haha, very true. I work at Abercrombie and Fitch on the weekends, and when we have all those size stickers stuck to the tables we just use some Fierce or Ezra Fitch to get them off. Easy as pie.
