Going gasketless for the front cover. Making sure i do it right.

I decided not to use a gasket for my front cover. I have the rotary aviation oil seal and have set that up, but am unsure of the small oil hole near the dowel pin. I saw that a stand pipe was used in the rotary avation video, but I have heard others just using a VERY thin layer of 999 around that hole. Will a thin layer do? I am using "The Right Stuff" instead of 999 myself.
