glovebox velour interior, what years?

hi all

comparing my 92, FD3S-102399 with a friends 94,
FD3S-204260 and noticed that while my glovebox had a black velour interior, (and an ashtray) his glovebox had a plain black plastic interior, (and a elbow pad on storage box instead of an ashtray)

was wondering if these changes happened at the same time as the change from peeling dash paint to crinkle finish plastic???

eric e

after doing a search for "glovebox" i now know i should have compared the lock position

I don't think any RX7 sold in the US had the elbow pad instead of the ash try. I have two 94's (one built in April 94 the other in Feb 94) and both had velour glovebox linings and an ash tray.

The elbow pad is an aftermarket JDM part. If you try to open it, it should open away from you. This makes sense since it's made for a right-hand drive car.
